Let me tell you a tale- a story of going out after work unexpectedly with a gigantic purse packed to the hilt. First, it took me several minutes of digging to even find my wallet. Next- I dropped a half full water bottle in the middle of a restaurant. To top off the evening I actually had my strap break which trying to mingle my way back to my car in a full bar. I'm so glad this wasn't some kind of date. This was the night I discovered the Emergency Clutch...

What is it you ask? Basically it is a clutch I can grab out of my car/work & take out with me at night. I'm not talking about a first aid kit or camping set... Just in case I'm missing any necessary items to get a bit more glammed up that I don't usually keep in my car I keep them in the clutch too. It helps me transition to night or update my look quickly on the go. Let's break down what I keep inside!

First let me show you my clutch- see how basic it is? I tried to pick something really basic. My basic might not be your basic- you might want to pick something with silver metal, no metal at all, or in a pattern. I also chose something with a sturdy wrist strap which is handy to grab & go. This one happened to be on sale at Old Navy a long time ago & I still dig the classic lines. Here are a few similar idea styles here, here, & here.

Makeup is obviously a must-have because it helps me change up my look pretty quickly. Inside I have some travel sized brushes, a mini makeup kit palette, gloss, small mascara, & a concealer I really love. The makeup palette is one I tend to neglect in my own collection which is why it works so well here. This is the Khroma Kardashian Khloe's Kardazzle Complete Face Palette which I actually reviewed over a year ago (here's the only one available now from Ulta!). I chose it for the mattes, shimmers, & the face products in the bottom are actually awesome. The brushes are what I considered the easiest to use with what I usually have. Notice I don't have an eyeliner or lipstick in here because they're more likely to melt.

The mascara is the Lancome Definicials Mascara & the concealer is the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye (here's a link to the full size but you can also buy this mini here!) since my undereye area needs the most help after a long day. I can also use this on blemishes in a pinch. I usually have a mascara in my purse & some kind of concealer but these are minis of some of my favorites which make me feel prettier. The gloss is Eddie Funkhouser Magic Hour & is ultra shiny & eye catching. I rarely keep these types of glosses in my purse but they look great to add some oomph.

Because nails are important to me I have a couple of nail products in here too. The mini sized polish is from Nubar & I'm not super crazy about the color. I keep it in here because I don't have many mini sized glitters to help conceal chips (check out more about this amazing trick here!) & this one wouldn't get used in my stash with many other options. I usually have a nail file in my purse but this is my backup which comes with a case. The nail glue is amazing because it brushes on. I've used it for a whole lot more than nails too- everything from jewelry to sunglasses fixes.

The rest of my beauty items are kind of random but totally necessary. The comb is great for teasing or just styling quickly. I always have bobby pins in my car but attached to my comb is an extra band as well as some clear elastics in case I want to get fancy. I normally also have some kind of fragrance in my purse but just in case I'm without my bag I have a perfume which instantly makes me feel more put together. The Reviva Labs Vitamin E stick (rave review here!) melts a bit in heat but it super essential because it helps me re-moisturize eczema areas & such. The Ziaja Baby & Kids Cream is a sample packet perfect for ultra sensitive skin that won't clash with anything I'm wearing either.

Inside I have a lot of items but some of the most important are the miscellaneous ones. U by Kotex® offers a full line of feminine care products for periods including pads, liners and tampons but shown above in the fun packaging are the pads. They are an excellent emergency item for obvious reasons & the U by Kotex pads have the 3D capture core which really helps me feel confident. Kotex is even giving away FREE samples which I'll talk about more below. Finger Wipes are awesome if you aren't able to run by home to brush your teeth- I even keep one or two in my wallet since they're so slim. Hand sanitizer gets brought up a lot on this blog so I assume you aren't surprised to see it here! I also have a pair of gold hoops in case I forget earrings or I wear some that start hurting my ears. I happen to also keep an extra pair of studs in my car.
